During October, Bolder organized and conducted eight creative workshops on water protection as part of the EU co-financed project for Međimurske vode, with goal of improvement of the drainage and wastewater treatment system in Međimurje area.
The educational program for children was called “Together in water protection”. The goal was to raise awareness among the youngest about responsible water protection and sensitization of the target group about the need for its protection. The workshops were held in eight schools and a total of 150 pupils from 1st to 4th grade.
The topic of water protection was introduced through an interactive presentation and a quiz. After the workshop all pupils received promotional gift packages and specially designed certificate for participating. Due to the epidemiological situation, all workshops were held online, which reduced the desired interaction with children.
The presentation covered the following topics: rivers in my homeland, UNESCO’s declaration of a transboundary biosphere reserve Mura-Drava-Dunav, the role of Međimurske vode, examples and tips on how to use and save water and how we can protect it for future generations. All students were very active and showed an enviable level of knowledge and high awareness of water protection. We like creative work with children and look forward to possible future projects.
